Red Velvet's Wendy has come under fire online for her impersonation of Black girls, with international fans calling her out for racism and stereotyping.

Appearing on Korean talk show, Talk Mon, Wendy was asked about different English dialects. Wendy, who grew up in Canada and the US, then performed two versions of speech. The first was how she deemed popular white girls talk, speaking in a high, 'Valley Girl' tone. Then, she impersonated what she considered to be how popular Black girls talk, using hand gestures and a different style of speech. Watch below.

International fans found the impersonations offensive and have expressed disappointment and anger in the idol who they believe should know better given her upbringing in the US.
