With the success of survival shows in K-pop now, it's becoming more and more common to see already established idols joining the casts alongside the regular trainees.
The upcoming season of Mnet's Produce 48 will star After School's Kaeun, and according to new reports, the 23-year-old has already made the coveted centre position of the Korean group!
While a source from the show refused to officially confirm the rumours, a separate source confirmed that Kaeun snagged the spot. If true, she'll join AKB48's Miyawaki Sakura in the shared centre position.
Produce 48 is a joint project between Japan's AKB48 and Korea's Produce 101, with the goal of creating a Korean-Japanese girl group to promote globally.
Longtime K-pop fans will remember Kaeun from her After School days. She made her debut during the group's "Flashback" era, and went on to promote throughout "First Love" and the Japanese singles "Shh" and "Heaven."
Produce 48 will premiere in June.
