Former 2AM member Jo Kwon has hit back at trolls on Instagram for criticising the LGBT community.

The trolls attacked him after he posted a selfie with Hong Suk Chun, one of Korea's most famous gay celebrities, at Hong's restaurant. According to Netizenbuzz and Allkpop, the 28-year-old wrote: "Did I harm your life in any way? Celebrities are humans too. I hope you become a person with a broader perspective of the world.

"There are people who look this way, that way, with this kind of personality and that personality, this kind of preference and that kind of preference. They all deserve to be loved. I hope you learn to respect others first."

He later added: "Stop discriminating. Someone can also hate and discriminate against you. We can't satisfy everyone in the world but there is a basic line. Don't change my feed full of rainbows to dark clouds."

International netizens on Instagram were quick to defend him, with many leaving supportive comments on his page.

"You're perfect the way you are and you don't need to prove anything to anyone," wrote one.

Another commented: "I love you so much and you’re a great inspiration for me to live my life how I want to."
