Singers Roy Kim and Eddy Kim, along with former FTISLAND member Choi Jong Hoon have admitted to spreading hidden camera photos taken without consent. Choi Jong Hoon has also admitted to filming illegal hidden camera footage.
Police revealed in a press conference on April 11 that Choi Jong Hoon's case will now be forwarded to prosecutors. He is charged with one count of sharing personally taken illegal footage and five counts of sharing footage from other sources, all of which violates South Korea's Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.
Roy Kim and Eddy Kim have admitted to sharing illegally taken photos in the chatroom, which they had downloaded from the internet. They are now being forwarded to prosecution on these charges. Neither is being charged currently with filming footage themselves.
Other than the celebrities, two other people were forwarded to prosecution one of whom is identified as former Club Arena promoter Mr. Kim, who was part of the group chatroom and has been charged with filming and spreading illegal footage.
Seungri who was also part of the chatroom is still undergoing investigations. He has been charged with sharing illegal footage but nothing further as of yet. Seungri is currently being investigated on suspicions of police bribery, tax evasion, embezzlement and prostitution mediation.
Jung Joon Young, who was the common factor in the chatrooms currently under investigation, is currently being held in a detention centre awaiting trial after admitting to the charges of filming and distributing illegally taken footage.
