South Korea's Constitutional Court has ruled that the country's 66-year old ban on abortion must be lifted, in what has become a huge victory for women's rights in the country.

The law made abortion a crime punishable by up to two years in prison. Although the law was rarely enforced, this verdict will now force Parliament to revise the law by the end of 2020, representing a major step in strengthening women's rights.

The news sparked huge rallies on the streets of South Korea, where supporters celebrated the legal victory. Some of those celebrations included supporters taking to singing Girls' Generation's "Into The New World" while waving signs and flags.

The SNSD song has been used by Korean people at demonstrations for political causes in the past, and hearing it sung en masse is incredible to hear. Watch some footage below.
