Singer and actor Goo Hara has regained consciousness after her suicide attempt on May 26 that led to her being hospitalised.

The former Kara member released a statement through a representative in which she stated: "I'm truly sorry for causing concern due to the recent event. I am currently recovering my health. I was feeling distressed due to various incidents that piled up.

I will try my best to show a healthy side of myself by having a stronger mindset. I am truly sorry about the recent incident".

It was reported on May 26 that Goo Hara had attempted suicide in her home and was rescued by her manager, who found her unconscious in a smoke-filled room. She was taken to hospital where she had remained stable but unconscious until today.
