They'll be creating idol groups in New Delhi and Mumbai

The ever-expanding J-pop idol girl group AKB48 has announced new international sister groups set to debut in India.

The idol groups named DEL48 and MUB48 will be based out of New Delhi and Mumbai respectively. They join an already big list of AKB48 sister groups that exist internationally, including Thailand's BNK48, Philippines' MNL48, China's AKB48 Team SH, Taiwan's AKB48 Team SP and Vietnam's SGO48.

That's not even including the Japanese sister groups of SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48 and STU48.

The New Delhi sister group DEL48 have launched a YouTube channel with a call out for auditions. It gives an overview of the group's history and set-up, with auditions set to take place in late July.
