BIGBANG's T.O.P has officially been discharged from the military.

The idol had his final day of work as a public servant on Saturday 6 July, and YG Entertainment has stated he will be making a quiet return.

On the day, T.O.P met fans who had come to see him on his last day of service, in a private fanmeet away from media. VIPs had even gone so far as to stage an elaborate prank, wherein they waited alongside media at a different meeting point, to make it seem like T.O.P would be giving an official statement to media. The idol chose to meet his fans instead.

In an Instagram post shared afterwards, he apologised to fans and thanked them for their support. He wrote in English: "Even though I am not proud of myself, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the fans who made time and efforts to share this moment with me. I will make sure to reflect on myself and repay the hurts and disappointments I caused to you. Again, thank you. Until I see you again... love, T.O.P".

Fans trended #LongTimeNoSeeTOP in the lead up to his discharge, with many sharing pictures from the fan meeting, as well as the media stop that never was.

Welcome back T.O.P!
