Jessica Jung is branching out into literature!

The former Girls' Generation member has announced that she will be releasing her first self-penned book, titled Shine, next year. The Young Adult fiction novel will be the first of a planned two-part series that follows the story of a Korean-American teenager training to become the next biggest K-pop star under one of Korea's largest entertainment labels.

The singer reportedly drew on her personal experiences in the industry when writing the book. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jessica shared,

"With Shine, I wanted to tell a big, fun, escapist story that also examines in-depth, behind-the-scenes aspects of the K-pop world. My goal was to tell a transparent, candid story - in a way that sometimes fiction does best."

ACE Entertainment, the team behind Netflix's sleeper hit To All The Boys I've Loved Before, is also set to develop the series into a live-action adaptation.

Jessica has been active lately as a solo singer with the recently released track "Call Me Before You Sleep," featuring rapper Giriboy.
