Former FT Island member Choi Jong Hoon has filed an appeal for his five-year prison sentence, handed down on November 29.

He was sentenced to prison for aggravated rape, along with four other individuals including Jung Joon Young. The rape for which he was sentenced occurred in Gangwon Province in January 2016 and Daegu in March 2016. They also were charged with filming and distributing illegally taken footage of women.

Along with the prison sentence, Choi Jong Hoon was also ordered by the court to complete 80 hours of sexual violence treatment, and his employment in organisations related to children and teenagers has been limited for five years.

Choi Jong Hoon submitted his appeal to the court on Wednesday December 4. One of the other individuals sentenced, Burning Sun promoter 'Kim', has also submitted an appeal.
