BLACKPINK's Lisa has been swindled out of 1 billion won (approx AU$1.2 million) by her former manager.

According to reports from Korean outlet Market News, the manager was a trusted member of staff who had been with the group since debut, and Lisa had known them since her time as a rookie trainee. As a foreign member she was especially vulnerable and it appears the manager took advantage of this.

YG Entertainment confirmed the news that Lisa's former manager exploited the idol's trust and connections, taking money from her claiming they would help her invest in real estate, and instead gambled with it.

In a statement issued by YG Entertainment, they confirmed that Lisa has wished to settle the issue amicably and the former manager has reimbursed some of the money. The manager has now left the company with a plan to reimburse the remaining amount.

The agency apologised to fans for causing concern, and said they are taking preventative measures to stop this from happening again in the future.
