WayV has announced the delay of their physical album's release, as they plan to correct the album cover.
In a statement written by Label V (an SM Entertainment subsidiary), they said:
"On June 9th, WayV will release all tracks from the first-full length album Awaken The World, and the music video for title track "Turn Back Time". But in regards to the physical album, after discovering issues regarding accessories on some of the outfits, the album cover will need correction, inevitably delaying its release date.
We apologise for the inadequacies in the album production process, and will work harder going forward to make sure every small accessory on any outfit are checked thoroughly and in more detail. We will announce the new date of the physical album release as soon as it is confirmed."
The delay and apology comes after a concentrated effort from fans to inform Label V and SM Entertainment of the fashion accessories in question, and requesting their removal from content.
In earlier promotional photos, member Kun had appeared in an outfit that featured an Agent Orange badge. Agent Orange is a dangerous herbicide and defoliant chemical known for being used by the US military in chemical warfare during the Vietnam War.
Fellow member WinWin was styled in an outfit that featured a pin with a Japanese racial slur written in English.
The images were removed from WayV's social media platforms and reuploaded without the offensive accessories.
WayV will make their comeback tonight with lead single "Turn Back Time" and their first ever full length album.
