For all those celebrating Eurovision with a spectacular party - don't forget your spectacular costume!

When you think Eurovision, there is one thing that resonates with everyone, and that is the crazy and downright wacky costumes. Some have described the event as demented alien celebration; while for others it’s just a regular Tuesday (here’s looking at you, Lordi).

For those of you celebrating the landmark occasion this year, especially since Australia’s competing, why not dress up!?

We’ve come up with your personal fashion guide to create the BEST and WACKIEST Eurovision costume at home!

Kicking off our looks for this evening we have 2015’s winner and all round amazing human, the divine, Conchita Wurst!

To create the diva from Austria’s look, proceed to channel Kim Kardashian. Simply get your tightest frock, stick on some falsies (gents, that’s fake eye lashes), roll around in your darkest bronzer and for the finish touch, grab your mascara wand and shade in your chin, upper lips and cheeks in order create the sophisticated 5’o’clock shadow. You’re ready to rumble!

Next up is the glorious Verka Serduchka also known as actor and comedian Andriy Danylko...

The 2007 contestant from the Ukraine channelled his inner drag queen in the outrageous and awesome silver star costume. Verka may have come second, but in our hearts she is above rank, and shines like the star she is!  To achieve her look, simply wrap yourself in tin foil, pop on your most 70s inspired shades, and finish with a Christmas Tree star ornament as a head piece. To go the extra mile, we recommend stuffing your bra or strapping on two funnels on your chest, under the foil. It really brings out your inner Verka.

We’re kicking it old school, with our home girl, Olivia Newton-John...

The Aussie singer may have represented the Brits in 1974, but the blonde beauty made one very interesting choice, her outfit. What we like to call “The mermaid’s last curtain”, the dress is more of a frill than a thrill. And you can create this powder blue nightmare at home! If you or your nana own old curtains, get rid of them. And proceed to wrap yourself in them. For those who have interiors that have changed since the 80s, stapling doilies to a 2-meter piece of baby blue tulle and then wrapping yourself in it, will create the desired look.

This one is to all the kids who cosplay as orc or demons at Supernova...

Or if you have played an orc or demon, or if you own a costume for ‘personal’ reasons (who are we to judge) – then this act is for you. 2006 Finish winners, Lordi won the song contest, but also a special place in our hearts, as the creepiest looking acts. If you’d like to recreate this look, we recommend having a drink, so your insides match your outside. Proceed to cover your face in luncheon meat – we’d recommend Devon. Rip to shreds all your dignity and then finish your look with a black cape.

Flying the flag for the UK in 2007 was Scooch...

The band channeled their inner flight attendant wearing polyester cabin crew attire. Get three mates to all wear the same suit, plaster on smile and top it off with a scarf around your neck, and you’ve got an outfit.

Rounding out our looks for this evening is imaginary-instrument playing Lithuanian group InCulto...

The 2010 contestants were the costume answer to a mullet. Beginning their performance in a white business shirt, and black trousers- they Billy Ray Cyrused their pants off wowing the masses with party ready glittery silver hot pants. To create this look: wear a fitted white business shirt with a black tie. Tuck with into a pair of black bike shorts. Cover the shorts in glue and proceed to throw glitter onto your crotch. We discovered filling a bucket with loose silver glitter and bathing your shorts in it, will achieve the desired look.
