21-year-old Aussie defender keeps clean-sheet on Bundesliga debut

21-year-old Australian defender George Timotheou made his Bundesliga debut, playing the full 90 minutes, as he helped Schalke keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Stuttgart.

Timotheou, who joined the German side in 2018 from Sydney Olympic, impressed in his first ever senior appearance for Schalke. 

Playing in a back three, the young centre-back made three tackles, one interception, three clearances and blocked one shot.
The result meant Schalke finished the season in 14th position, while Stuttgart will play in a relegation play-off.
