Sprinters are certain to feast in three of the five stages in the Middle East, before a 22 per cent gradient climb towards the Skyviews of Harrat Uwayrid awaits them in the fourth.
Of the 16 teams selected to compete, eight are from the UCI WorldTour, five are ProTeams and the remaining three are from the UCI Asia Tour, with SBS On Demand set to deliver all the action LIVE from February 1-5.
Stage 1
The opening stage features a 198-kilometre ride through AlUla’s Winter Park, complete with mostly flat terrain for sprinters and a 7.5-kilometre section that takes the peloton through a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stage 2
The second stage spans 164 kilometres and is said to be “a terrain for strong men”.
Featuring both climbing and descending, it is sure to play a decisive part in the overall classification.

Stage 3
The third stage will be a smoother journey for the riders as they travel from Tayma Hadaj, one of the biggest wells in Saudi Arabia, to AlUla Old Town.
Stretching 181 kilometres, the stage’s conclusion in front of the castle sits at the end of a straight one-kilometre line.

Stage 4
The fourth stage to the Skyviews of Harrat Uwayrid offers the contrast of a flat road before the last 40 kilometres tasks riders with a finale organisers labelled “superb and really very hard”.

Stage 5
Spanning 138.9 kilometres, the conclusive stage will take riders back to AlUla Old Town and towards the castle they encountered during the third stage.
