AC Milan mercilessly mocked for selling team bus

Times are tough at iconic Italian Serie A club AC Milan, so tough that the team’s bus has reportedly been sold.

The luxury vehicle, aboard which any rockstar would feel at home, has sold for around $212,000, accoring to local press reports, as the club looks to save around $300,000 a year.

But if the seven-time European champion, which has fallen from grace on and off the field of late, was looking for some sympathy in relation to its current financial funk, it received quite the opposite, with the Internet quick to mock the news.

AC Milan finished eighth in Serie A last season, missing out on the lucrative financial gains offered by European competition.

Currently, the Rossoneri sits in the same position at the halfway point of this season, and has just one win from its past five league matches, with a trip to fifth-placed Lazio on the schedule this weekend.
