Archie Thompson scores first goal in Spain

Archie Thompson has scored his first goal for Spanish fifth division side Racing Murcia in a 5-1 win over EF Alhama.

The former Melbourne Victory striker showed his class in his second match for the club as he lobbed the keeper to double Murcia's lead in the 27th minute. 

Thompson's debut went viral in Spain and Australia after a local program did a feature on the 40-year-old's struggles to understand any instructions given by his coach, David Vidal. 

The video was seen more than 500,000 times across all platforms. 

The victory sees Murcia move up to fourth on the table.
