Arzani made his debut for the Dutch side three days ago in a friendly against Go Ahead Eagles.

This morning's (AEST) friendly against Ajax was his second appearance off the bench, as he came on with his side already 5-0 down against the Dutch giants.

The 21-year-old showed flashes of his trademark speed and agility as he saw his shot saved by Netherlands international goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Arzani's teammate Othmane Boussaid scored a beauty to make it 5-1 in the 70th minute.

After a tough time at Celtic, where he sustained a serious knee injury, Arzani hasn't played a full 90 minute match since the 2018 A-League semi-final for Melbourne City against Newcastle Jets.

The Australian could see more game time next Friday morning (AEST) when Utrecht play their next friendly against Heerenveen.

The Eredivisie season kicks off for Utrecht on September 13 against AZ Alkmaar.
