A 56th minute goal to Kyle Lafferty was the difference as Hearts stunned a desperate Celtic outfit to secure top spot on the Scottish Premier League table with their second win in as many games to start the season.

Former A-League marquee player Oliver Bozanic came off the bench in the 74th minute for Hearts while fellow Australian Ben Garuccio played the full 90 minutes in the victory.

Rogic was introduced in the second-half when he came off the bench with 20 minutes remaining on the clock but was unable to manufacture one his trademark moments of magic to help Celtic rescue a point.
In England's Championship, Mile Jedinak has returned to the winners circle as Aston Villa secured a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Wigan.

The Australian defensive midfielder played his first full match for his Midlands club after the Socceroos' recent World Cup campaign as a centre back.

Jedinak's return was not all smooth sailing with his back pass to new goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, who made a mess of it, inadvertently gifting the Latics a goal in the 41st minute when Nick Powell cancelled out James Chester's opener.

Wigan carried their League One form into their return to the second tier and looked like they might win it when Callum Connolly marked his second debut on loan from Everton by making it 2-1.

But a Chey Dunkley own goal soon had Villa back on level terms and, after chances for both sides, they won it with a 94th-minute strike from Birkir Bjarnason.

After their hammering by Brentford last weekend, things also look a lot more positive for Ryan William's Rotherham thanks to Michael Smith's late goal in a 1-0 win over Ipswich. WIlliams played 28 minutes in the match after coming on as a second half substitute

Sheffield United beat Massimo Luongo's Queens Park Rangers 2-1 with the Socceroos midfielder starting the match and playing out 90 minutes.

Jackson Irvine made a late cameo coming off the bench in the 66th minute as his Hull City side nabbed a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday,  Adam Federici was on the bench as Stoke shared the points with Brentford and James Meredith played the full match for Millwall in a 0-0 draw with Blackburn.

It was a tough day in the Premier League with Aaron Mooy and Mat Ryan both suffering defeats.

Mooy's huddersfield were outclassed at home by Chelsea as Maurizio Sarri claimed his first Premier League win with a 3-0 victory.

It was not much better for Ryan with Brighton suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Watford.

In Germany Robbie Kruse played 90 minutes before being substitued in injury time as Bochum won 2-0 against Duisburg.

Kwame Yeboah wasn't as lucky with his Fortuna Koln side going down 1-0 to Zwickau.

Mitch Duke claimed an assist for Shimzu S-Pulse in Japan's J-League but it wasn't enough to secure victory as they went down 2-1 to Kawasaki Frontale.  Mitch Langerak's Nagoya Grampus won 4-2 in their match against Kashima Antlers with the fringe Socceroos shot-stopper playing the full 90 minutes.

Aziz Behich played the full match for Bursaspor as they we beaten 2-1 by Fernabache.
Finally in the women's game Sam Kerr was at her goal scoring best as she found the back of the net in Chicago Red Stars 1-1 draw with North Carolina Courage, while Katrina Gorry and Lydia Williams both featured for Seattle Reign in their 1-0 win against the Utah Royals.
