Jones has played an integral part in his side's Cup run this season, culminating in an inspired performance at De Kuip as goals to Nicolai Jorgensen, Robin van Persie and Jens Toornstra sealed the win.

Alkmaar's Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Wout Weghorst brought out the best in the 36-year-old but could not prevent his fourth clean sheet of the tournament and Feyenoord's second Dutch Cup in the past three seasons.

With two games remaining in the Eredivisie, van Bronckhorst's men are locked in fourth place and through to the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League.

Meanwhile fringe Socceroo Apostolos Giannou played just over 20 minutes in AEK Larnaca's 3-1 loss to second-placed APOEL in the Cypriot First Division.

While fellow striker Tomi Juric played 68 minutes in Luzern's 2-1 victory over FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League.

Former Melbourne Victory defender Jason Geria played the full 90 minutes in JEF United's 3-1 J2 League loss to Avispa Fukuoka.
