Aussies Abroad: Mabil excels in Denmark

Awer Mabil was in inspired form, providing an assist for Danish club Midtjylland in a 2-2 draw against the Esbjerg side of fellow Australian Brent McGrath on Monday (AEDT).

Mabil's electric pace and skillfull dribbling kept the Esbjerg defence on their toes before he was substituted in the 79th minute.

The Socceroos winger's best moment came after 65 minutes when he delivered a pin-point cross for Ebere Onuachu to fire past the 'keeper from close range.

However, it wasn't to be the perfect ending for Mabil with Esbjerg scoring a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time to snatch a point.

Adelaide product McGrath was a late substitute for Esbjerg, coming on in the 80th minute.

Mustafa Amini was also in action in Denmark, playing 90 minutes for AGF as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Randers.

In Switzerland, Tomi Juric claimed an assist in Luzern's 5-2 loss to Zurich.

Juric started the match and played the full 90 minutes. 

He laid on a pass to set up a brilliant solo run from Blessing Eleke in the 22nd minute, to lock the scores up a 1-1.

The game took a turn for the worse for Juric's side as Zurich piled on three unanswered goals on their way to comprehensive victory.

In the Netherlands, Denis Genreau played 90 minutes in PEC Zwolle's 3-0 loss to Fortuna Sittard, while his Australian teammate Dean Bouzanis was an unused substitute.

Jimmy Jeggo clocked 90 minutes for Austria Vienna in a 3-2 loss to Wolfsberger AC.

In Japan, Jason Geria played 90  minutes for Japanese second division side JEF United as they won 2-0 Tokushima Vortis.

Connor Chapman logged a full shift for Pohang Steelers in the K-League as they won 3-1 against Suwon Bluewings.

Finally, there were two goals for Australian players in Hong Kong's top division with Jared Lum scoring for Kitchee in a 8-1 demolition and Harrison Saywer also found the back of the net for Woofoo Tai Po as they won 3-1.
