The 2020-21 NBA season is fast approaching and SBS will again broadcast two live, regular season games per week in HD on SBS VICELAND and streamed live via SBS On Demand - starting December 27.

Australia came in at an impressive fourth for representation in the NBA this season with eight players - nine if you include Will Magnay, who is on a two-way contract with New Orleans Pelicans which permits him to play up to 50 NBA games.

The USA, of course, makes up the bulk of the NBA while Canada is the second-best represented with 17.

France pips Australia to the podium with nine players (11 including two-way contracts).

Australia's eight concrete representatives are:

Aron Baynes - Toronto Raptors

Matthew Dellavedova - Cleveland Cavaliers

Danté Exum - Cleveland Cavaliers

Josh Green - Dallas Mavericks

Joe Ingles - Utah Jazz

Thon Maker - Cleveland Cavaliers

Patty Mills - San Antonio Spurs

Ben Simmons - Philadelphia 76ers

Serbia and Germany come after Australia with six players each.

It is the seventh season in a row the opening-night rosters have featured 100 or more international (non-American) players, with all 30 teams having at least one.

Additionally, a new record of 34 NBA players have previously featured in Basketball Without Borders (BWB), FIBA and the NBA's global development and community outreach program.
