Banter, inspiration, proposal tips - The personalised messages from Aussie footballers

Scott McDonald, Daniel Georgievski, Jamie Maclaren and many other Australian footballers are recording a variety of personalised video messages through a new startup, which is connecting fans to some of their favourite players.

McDonald gave tips on how to propose, Chloe Logarzo congratulated a student on finishing their exams and Georgievski told "lanky lefty" Simon to let his dreams of being a footballer go because his mate Harvey "is the future."

These are just some of the examples of personalised video messages that Aussie footballers are recording for paying fans via Swysh

From between $10 - $50, you can have the likes of Aaron Mooy, Maclaren, Craig Moore, Andrew Nabbout and more record a video message for you.

20 percent of every purchase goes to Starlight Children's Foundation and Variety - the Children's Charity.

The Aussie startup launched in December 2019, with the aim to give "football fans the opportunity to connect with their favourite football star via personalised video messages," according to founder and CEO Michael Roth.

It is a similar concept to American companies like Cameo, but Swysh is more affordable for fans.

"The pricing is initially set by Swysh and the player (in consultation), and will often be reviewed over time ... We try to find a balance between affordability and raising more funds for disadvantaged children," Roth said.

With the coronavirus crisis causing world football to come to a halt, players will have even more time to record these messages.

Roth said the players themselves have been encouraging people to "to be sensible, keep your distances and stay safe" in recent weeks.

So while footballers and fans might be separated for a little while longer, there is a very modern way for them to stay connected.
