The 26-year-old striker, signed from Ligue 1 club Toulouse in the northern summer, put the home side ahead on 74 minutes, only for Victor Laguardia to equalise from a corner, which had looked enough to earn a share of the points.

However, Ben Yedder struck again in the closing seconds when he flicked the ball home at the near post, which put Sevilla above Barcelona and level on points with Real Mardid, with both their rivals set to play later this weekend.

There was also a late show at El Sadar where David Garcia's strike in added time helped Las Palmas fight back to earn a 2-2 draw against Osasuna.

Enrique Martin's side looked set to earn a first LaLiga victory at the seventh attempt this season when Roberto Torres tucked an early penalty after only seven minutes, and Sergio Leon added a spectacular second just before the end of the first half.

However, the Canary Island side, who twice came back to draw 2-2 at home to Real Madrid last weekend, staged another recovery as Vicente Gomez reduced the deficit on 57 minutes before Garcia struck at the death.

The evening match at Riazor saw yet more late drama as substitute Ryan Babel struck deep into stoppage-time to give Deportivo La Coruna a 2-1 victory over Sporting Gijon and end a five-match winless run.

Deportivo, whose only previous LaLiga triumph this season had come on the opening weekend, took the lead on 24 minutes through a close-range effort from Celso Borges.

Gijon, who came to the Riazor on the back of a three-match losing streak, were level on 65 minutes as Sergio Alvarez looped a header into the far corner.

However, with just seconds of the two minutes of added time remaining, midfielder Babel drilled a low shot from 25 yards in off the left-hand post to spark wild celebrations around the stadium.

In the day's early kick-off, a second-half goal from Alexander Szymanowski was enough to earn Leganes a 1-0 win over Granada at Los Carmenes.

The winger scored on the counter-attack with 13 minutes left to leave the hosts bottom.
