O’Connor fought hard in the heat of Stage 20, fending off fifth-placed Wilco Kelderman (Bora-Hansgrohe) in the individual time trial to ensure his passage through Paris was one to savour.
The 25-year-old has shown tremendous strength in his debut Tour de France, and supporters near and far were quick to congratulate him ahead of his ride down the Champs-Elysees tomorrow.
