Big changes for Bec Henderson and Dan McConnell in 2017

The Australian MTB stars will run their own private team in 2017 and are on the look out for a major sponsor.

While the pair have partnered with Scott Bikes Australia and will also receive significant support from such partners as Mitas Bicycle Tyres, Motion clothing, TORQ Nutrition, Adidas Eyewear and Stan’s NoTubes, the lack of a major sponsor is a concern.

For Bec and Dan's goals remain the same, i.e. battling for the podium at the six World Cup rounds in 2017 across Europe and Canada, and featuring at their home soil World Championships in Cairns come September.

Achieving these aims doesn't just "happen" and a lot of preparation and support is required before the World Cup season kicks off mid-May in the Czech Republic.

Away from the financial balance sheet though, the pair are already well in the black in leading their respective elite categories after the first four rounds of the Australian National series. They head out on their new Scott Sparks and Scales this weekend in Bairnsdale as they look to secure the overall titles.

The Australian season concludes in March with the Oceania Championships in Toowoomba and then the National Championships in Canungra, Queensland – the home of the 2018 Commonwealth Games mountain bike event.
