60 minutes of torture

Swedish rider Gustav Larsson took to the boards on the weekend in Manchester for an attempt at the UCI Hour Record. The 34 year old finished two kilometres short of Rohan Dennis' record with a distance of 50.016km.

It was not a bad effort considering he only returning to competition now after break his back last June.

To anyone willing to put themselves through an hour of pain, we salute you!

Priorities

Australian Treasurer Joe Hockey has announced plans that would allow for teenagers to access their superannuation fund provided there's a really kickin rad BMX bike that they want so bad. This is an investment. A BMX never loses its value. They were cool when I was a kid, they're cool now. And perhaps these enterprising young sorts will ride that BMX to a job interview and get that job. Then, one day, they'll quit and bust a sweet trick right in the boss's face. That's what I would do.
