The sprint star will travel on Sunday to Europe to fulfill a commercial commitment organised more than six months ago.
The Mariners were advised of Bolt's leave of absence when they club were negotiating the Jamaican's train on deal but have remained tight lipped about the plans until now.
Since retiring from athletics in 2016, the 32-year-old has maintained a myriad of commercial partnerships including a deal with German sports brand Puma believed to be worth as much as A$14 million a year.
Bolt is expected to train on Saturday before flying out on Sunday. His return is believed to be a week later on Sunday, September 16.
The Daily Telegraph reports Mariners head of performance Andrew Young has set Bolt a training program to complete while he is overseas as his fitness levels continue to be a major concern for Mike Mulvey.
This trip could delay Bolt's next match in Central Coast colours but Mariners have been inundated with offers from rival clubs to host the eight-time Olympic champion.
