Boomers make big cuts in final 12-man World Cup squad

Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis has overlooked a pair of players with NBA experience in his final selection for next month's FIBA World Cup in China.

Mitch Creek and Deng Adel, alongside 2016 Olympian Brock Motum, are the major omissions from a squad of 12 that still boasts a wealth of NBA talent.

NBA regulars Joe Ingles, Aron Baynes, Patty Mills, Jonah Bolden and Matthew Dellavedova will lead a side chasing its first major international medal, while veteran centre Andrew Bogut is the reigning NBL MVP and is back in Sydney after a short-term stint with the Golden State Warriors.

Before the Boomers head to China for the World Cup, they will play a series of home warm-up games - during the 2019 international basketball series - LIVE, FREE and in HD on SBS VICELAND / streamed live via SBS On Demand.
