The 33 year-old has played the last two seasons in Holland’s Eredivisie for ADO Den Haag making 48 appearances and scoring two goals for the top-flight club.

Brisbane coach John Aloisi believes Kristensen will strengthen the Roar’s midfield and suit the club’s style of play.

“We believe Thomas will be an excellent addition to our squad,” Aloisi said.

“Not only has he represented his country [Denmark] but he has played at the highest level in both Denmark and Holland for many years now.”

Kristensen has also expressed his excitement about the next chapter in his successful career.

“The offer to come to Brisbane is a once in a life opportunity for myself and my family,” Kristensen said.

“First and foremost I come here to help the club be successful and win a trophy.

“I am very excited about this new adventure.”

After two seasons with FC Nordsjaelland in 2006-2007 & 2007-2008, Kristensen transferred to FC Copenhagen, one of Denmark’s most successful clubs.  During the six seasons he spent in the Danish capital from 2008-2014, Kristensen experienced great success winning the Danish Superliga four times (2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 & 2012-13) and the Danish Cup twice (2008-09, 2011-12).

Finding players who are successful is an important factor for Aloisi when signing new players for the Roar. This was a key factor in the decision to bring Kristensen to Brisbane.

“Thomas is a winner and has been successful throughout his career,” Aloisi said.

“We are again looking to improve as a team and we believe Thomas has a big part to play in the upcoming season.”
