The five-round series, which serves as the main qualifying event for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, begins in Manchester this weekend. It then travels to the Netherlands, Sweden and Argentina before culminating in Rock Hill, USA in September.

Buchanan will face stiff competition from Olympic champion Mariana Pajon (Colombia) and the USA's Alise Post who has had a strong pre-season.

Defending men's champion Liam Philips will have home-track advantage in Manchester. Challenges will come from world champion Sam Willoughby (Australia) and Olympic champion Maris Strombergs (Latvia).
