Buffon's PSG wages leaked - report

New Paris Saint-Germain signing Gianluigi Buffon is now earning just under €5 million ($8m) per season, according to French outlet L’Équipe.

If the report is accurate it means the legendary Juventus goalkeeper is enjoying an upgrade on his previous contract in Italy, which was €4.5 million per season.

This big a salary could be a reflection on his place in the team, suggesting he will be the club's first choice 'keeper and not a bench player despite being 40 years old.

His €410,000 ($650,000) net per month salary, as reported by L’Équipe, does not include bonuses, so his final earnings could be much larger.

Buffon left Juventus when his contract expired on 30 June this year, after a mammoth 17 seasons at the club.

With the Bianconeri he won 11 Serie A titles (two rescinded), the Coppa Italia four times, and made the UEFA Champions League final three times.
