Clisby, 22, will be available for Melbourne City’s first game after the AFC Asian Cup 2015 – at home to Western Sydney Wanderers on 1 February - after becoming the club’s first signing in 2015.
“As a young talented defender, Jack has been on our radar for some time and we are happy to welcome him to Melbourne and expect him to be an important contributor to the team,” head coach John van’t Schip said.
“Jack comes to us at a time where we require depth as we embark on a busy fixture schedule in February and for the remainder of the season."
Clisby can play either as a left-back or central defender.
