While The Cyclones from a town of some 1000 people near the Gulf of Carpentaria has a battle on its hands to progress past the much more fancied Hellenic AC in Darwin on Wednesday night, it has already overcome a turbulent week that saw the players' boots stolen.
However, after a social media campaign sportswear and football equipment supplier Umbro jumped on board to supply the team with 20 pairs of new boots.
And with Dotti on board, who knows what the Cyclones can achieve as they look to become NT Football's representive in the FFA Cup Round of 32.
"One of the managers in the team contacted me via Facebook to see if I wanted to play and I jumped at the chance," Dotti told the Liverpool City Champion.
"It's a huge honour for me to represent my indigenous culture in football. I can't wait to join the team; it will be good for the Cyclones and indigenous football."
Just last year, Borroloola's footballers were on the world stage when courtesy of the John Moriarty Foundation, a group of youngster from the town visited the Socceroos at their World Cup training camp in Brazil.
