The show about the celebrity couple has been commisioned by Discovery Networks and will be called 'Bendtner and Philine', according to Danish media outlet dr.

It will reportedly be released on Denmark's D-Play streaming service in European spring.

It would be an interesting career turn for Danish striker Bendtner, who is currently without a football club after leaving FC Copenhagen in December after joining them just three months earlier.

"Both Philine and I are used to being in the media spotlight," the 32-year-old said in a press release.

"Many stories are written about us, and we often find that only half the truth emerges.

"In my book, I talk about the ups and downs that have shaped my life and my career so far, and this series is a natural continuation of that tale."

The cult hero nicknamed 'Lord Bendtner' also alluded to a potential retirement from football.

"There is no doubt that I had a dream that it would turn into more playing time and maybe a longer deal," he said.

"But I fully respect the decision made by Stale (Solbakken, Copenhagen manager), and I do not regret in any way that I got this time.

"Now I want to think about my future and think carefully about whether I should try a new adventure in the football world or stop and start some new adventures in life."

Roepstorff added: "We wanted to bring down some of the cliches and prejudice that will always exist about a footballer and his model girlfriend.

"And then we want to give viewers an insight into the fun and sometimes difficult love that will always be the cornerstone of our relationship."

Bendtner came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and spent nine seasons with the north London club. He also had loan spells with Juventus, Sunderland and Birmingham City, and later played for Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest and Rosenborg.

He has 30 goals in 81 caps for Denmark.
