An explosion was heard during the first half of the game and French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet later confirmed to Canal+ that three fans had lost their lives in the Gate J part of the ground.

The bombing came as part of wider terror attacks throughout Paris.

There was also a hostage situation at Bataclan Concert Hall, where at least 100 people are believed to have been killed.

During the match itself, an explosion can be clearly heard outside the stadium.

France President Francois Hollande was at the game, but was swiftly evacuated as the scale of the atrocities emerged.

After the game, terrified fans gathered on the Stade de France pitch, too afraid to leave, while both teams were reportedly in lock down in the stadium's changerooms.

There are reports a suicide bomber was responsible for the explosion outside the Stade de France.

Only yesterday, the Germany team was made to evacuate their team hotel at short notice.

France are scheduled to play England in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium next week, but discussions will be held before then.
