The story's main source, supposedly reformed 'hooligan' 18-year-old Julian Cumbo, has been widely criticised on social media.
The story showed two alleged Sydney FC fans claiming they were attracted to the 'hooligan scene' because of the "violence bro... F**king violence".
The two individuals had their face covered and voices modified so as not to be identified.

The interviews were recorded by Cumbo, who revealed his past involvement with the Wanderers' active support, the Red and Black Bloc.
The story was slammed on social media.
It is understood Cumbo previously offered a number of media organisations the chance to make a documentary on 'hooligan life', promising 'unprecedented access to this sub-culture'.
The World Game has contacted Channel 10 to ask how they validated the individuals involved and whether Cumbo was paid. They are yet to respond.
