Western Sydney Wanderers produced their highest-scoring match ever, hammering the famous Sydney United 7-1 at Campbelltown Stadium.

Bruce Kamau, Daniel Georgievski, and Kwame Yeboah scored in the first-half to give the A-League side a 3-0 lead at half-time.

Georgievski, who joined from the Newcastle Jets in the off-season, was particularly impressive throughout the match playing in a more advanced role on the left-wing.

Patrick Antelmi gave Sydney United some hope when he converted a penalty in the 50th minute to make it 3-1, but that hope didn't last long with Matthew Bilic's own-goal just six minutes later.

A shocking tackle from Sydney United's Luke Vlastelica sparked an all-in melee which resulted in United's Yianni Perkatis receiving his marching orders after he appeared to throw a punch during the scuffle.

A man up, the Wanderers really started to flex their muscles and in the 72nd minute Tate Russell finished off a brilliant team move that started after a great run from Georgievski.

Polish import, Radoslaw Majewski hit a beautiful strike to extend the Wanderers lead before Georgievski sealed the victory with his second goal and the Wanderers' seventh.

The Wanderers will now travel to face Melbourne City in the quarter-finals.

Brisbane Roar 2 Central Coast Mariners 2 (Mariners won 4-2 on penalties)

Robbie Fowler's home debut as Roar coach proved to be a dramatic contest, decided by a penalty shootout.

Matt Simon won and converted a penalty in the 21st minute before Brisbane's Bradden Inman equalised in the 47th minute.

Simon was pivotal for the Mariners once again when he set up Samuel Silvera in the 85th-minute, but just two minutes later Roar were awarded a penalty.

New signing Roy O'Donovan had earlier missed a great chance, but he showed impressive composure to bury his penalty past Mariners keeper Mark Birighitti.

Birighitti had the last laugh though, saving off O'Donovan's penalty, as well as Tom Aldred's attempt, to secure a 4-2 shootout victory.

The Mariners will now face Victorian side Hume City in the quarter-finals.

Brisbane Strikers 1 Manly United 0

Brisbane will face Moreland Zebras in the quarter-finals.
