The FFA currently receive $6 million a year as a result of the naming rights sponsorship deal for the A-League and, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, could soon be forced to look elsewhere for a similar return.

It is believed the Korean car manufacturer have no plans to renew their existing deal set to expire in four months, though the FFA could yet come to a one-year agreement in order to avoid any immediate financial loss.

"Commercial discussions are ongoing between Hyundai and Football Federation Australia in relation to its whole of game partnership," an FFA spokesperson told The Herald.

"As these discussion are continuing, FFA is not in a position to provide any specific comment.

"FFA greatly appreciates its partnership with Hyundai which has spanned over 15 years."

Waning interest in the A-League, coupled with poor financial returns in the motor vehicle industry, are said to be the main reasons influencing Hyundai's impending exit.

In addition to their A-League presence; valued at $5 million per year, Hyundai also contribute some $1 million towards the FFA's national teams.
