Both matches will be played consecutively on Saturday 12 December at Perry Park in Brisbane.
The annual event will see the best men's and women's players that are available selected to represent their state.
In 2021, New South Wales will host the event, with hosting rights to alternate each year.
Football NSW said coaches for both teams would be announced after next weekend's Men's NPL Grand Final, and those coaches will then select which players will represent their state.
Football NSW CEO Stuart Hodge said it was a great chance to reignite the state rivalry and showcase the talent in the NPL.
“We all know how intense the contest gets when Queensland and New South Wales share a pitch," Hodge said.
“This is a great opportunity for our players and coaches to get up there, represent their state and exhibit the quality that exists in the NPL."
“Football NSW is pleased to work with our colleagues in Queensland to reinvigorate this concept after what has been a difficult season for all involved in the sport, and I am sure that over the years it will grow in stature and become an important event in our annual football calendar.”
Football matches between the two states dates all the way back to the 19th century, with the two states facing off at Sir Joseph Banks Park in Botany on August 16, 1890, with Queensland winning 3-1.
