Former A-League star Honda's bold bid for Manchester United move

Former Japan and Melbourne Victory star Keisuke Honda has made a bold pitch to secure a move to Premier League giants Manchester United after attempting to contact them on twitter.

The 33-year-old, currently without a club after departing Victory in July, has seemingly set his sights on joining the Red Devils after asking for the club to sign him.

Honda tweeted on Friday, “Give me an offer. I don’t need money but I need to play with great team and great team mate! @ManUtd.”

The Japan great has never played in the Premier League during a career which has spanned stints in Serie A, Russian Premier League and Dutch Eredivisie.

The attacking midfielder retired from national team duty in 2018 after becoming the highest scoring Asian player in World Cup history.

Manchester United has not previously been linked to the silky skilled Honda but could use an experienced veteran who has played at the top of the game for more than a decade.
