Former Wellington full-back Cacace linked with move to Juventus

New Zealand international Liberato Cacace has been linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus, according to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 20-year-old was a standout performer in the A-League with Wellington Phoenix between 2018 and 2020, before making the move to Belgium's Sint-Truiden in August 2020. 

The left-back has been on fire this season, playing the full 90 minutes 16 matches in a row - ever since he broke into the first team. 

Cacace has been a key part of the Belgian side turning their season around since the departure of coach, and former Socceroo, Kevin Muscat. 

Sint-Truiden have won five of their past six matches, moving them up to 14th on the table. 

Romano, who is one of the most well-respected transfer journalists in the world, says the move would see Cacace initially join Juve's under-23 side.

Cacace's Australian based agent said he had nothing to add at this stage when contacted by SBS The World Game.
