The four-time Tour de France winner has been in and out of action since June after breaking his elbow and ribs, as well as fracturing his femur and sternum, in a crash at the Criterium du Dauphine.
But despite making a spirited return at the Saitama Criterium in October, Froome himself admitted his appearance was perhaps premature.
"I'm in an extremely fortunate position that I am even back on a bike again at this stage," the 34-year-old Briton told Eurosport.
"I had some pretty horrific injuries and I've still got to have another surgery."
And now, with Ineos' training camp for the 2020 season already underway, Italian magazine BiciSport report Froome has since left Spain after struggling to recover from his aforementioned injuries.
