Fuglsang was immediately sent to hospital following the crash where a fracture of his left collarbone was diagnosed.

He was transferred to a hospital in Belgium where he underwent surgery on Sunday.
This is a further blow to the Dane after abandoning the Tour de France on stage 13, the pain of two small fractures near his left elbow suffered in a crash on stage 11 proving too much.

He now looks set to miss out on representing Denmark at the UCI World Championships.
