Georgievski given two game ban for 'assault' on Sydney's Tilio

The A-League's independent Match Review Panel has handed Western Sydney Wanderers defender Daniel Georgievski a two-game ban after he was found guilty of "assault on a player" by kicking Sydney FC's Marco Tilio in their A-League derby on Friday night.

Georgievski was initially given a yellow card for the 89th-minute incident, but after a video assistant review, the referee upgraded it to a red card.

The 32-year-old defender has until 2pm Tuesday to appeal the decision.

Western Sydney face Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City in their next two matches. Ironically, should Georgievski accept the ban he would be in-line to return against Sydney FC on March 21.

Sydney FC coach Steve Coria was furious with Georgievski after the match, angrily confronting the Wanderers defender in the tunnel.

Western Sydney won the match 1-0 at Kogarah Oval, it was only Sydney FC's second loss of the season - the first was also a 1-0 loss to the Wanderers in October last year.
