Robbie Fowler found space in the box in the 6th minute, but his shot was straight at Kalac who came up with the save.

Gerrard picked out Smicer with a clever ball over the top in the 11th minute, but the former Red's attacker couldn't keep his volley on target.

In the 15th minute, Smicer turned provider with a cross which found Garcia, who sprayed his effort over the bar.

Corica came close for the Australian legends in the 16th minute, when Zdrilic played his former Sydney FC team-mate through but Corica's effort was saved by Westerveld.

Corica had another opportunity to break the deadlock in the 23rd minute, beautifuly chesting down Skoko's through ball and beating the keeper, but McAteer was there to clear it off the line.

The Liverpool legends made Graham Arnold's men pay in the 27th minute when Berger picked out Garcia with clever through ball, and the 37 year-old calmly rolled it past Kalac.

Gerrard had a golden opportunity to double his side's lead in the 39th minute, striding past Vidmar to get in-behind the Legendroos defence but Kalac picked the right way and made a strong save.

Garcia bagged his second in the 53rd minute after Gerrard picked him out at the far post and Kalac couldn't keep the resulting header out.

Garcia was looking for a hat-trick and came close with a volley stinging the palms of Clint Bolton.

However, it was Rush who turned back the clock and got Liverpool Legend's thrid goal in the 74th minute, tapping in Riise's cross from close range.

Aldridge's tapped in the fourth in stoppage time as Liverpool Legends cruised to victory.
