Guardini pips Ewan in Langkawi finale

Astana's Andrea Guardini claimed his 18th Le Tour de Langkawi stage victory, pipping Caleb Ewan for the honour in the race's final stage in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

The Italian was again too fast for Ewan, with Tinkoff-Saxo's Michal Kolar rounding out the podium.

MTN-Qhubeka's Youcef Reguigui finished 10th on the stage to seal the overall title after he claimed the race lead from Ewan on the penultimate stage. The Algerian won the race by 9 seconds over Astana's Valerio Agnoli, with Sky's Sebastian Henao a further second behind.

Despite having Guardini as a constant adversary, Ewan leaves Malaysia with two stage victories, the points jersey and four days in the yellow jersey, a good haul for the 20-year-old Orica-GreenEDGE rider.

Tour de Langkawi is done for 2015! 2 stage wins, 4 podiums, Points jersey and 4 days in yellow! Thanks to the @orica_greenedge staff and my teammates for making it a good one. Now time to get things started in Europe!✈️ A photo posted by @calebewan on Mar 15, 2015 at 4:55am PDT
