The 2025 Squash Australian Open will play host to a strong field of Australians and international competitors as the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour Gold Event plays out on Southbank in the heart of Brisbane.

Australians Joseph White, Dylan Molinaro, Alex Haydon and Jess van der Walt are all set to participate in the premier squash event on the Australian scene, though they'll have their work cut out for them against a formidable international field.

World No.4s Paul Coll and Olivia Weaver have been named as top seeds for the men's and women's events, respectively.

Paul Coll will be featuring in his third Australian Open, aiming to claim his second title. His win in 2015 was a breakthrough victory for the Kiwi, beating Aussie legend Cameron Pilley in the final.

He’s since gone on to claim five major event titles and a Commonwealth Games Gold medal. He’s endured a staggered start to the 24/25 season but will be looking to turn his fortunes around closer to home.

USA’s Olivia Weaver tops the women’s draw as she looks to claim her fifth title in the last 12 months and second Gold-level event. The 29-year-old has established herself as the leading candidate to challenge the world’s top three.

The event has been held as the Australian Open since 1980, but replaced the former Australian Amateur Championships, which had a history stretching back to 1928.
