In 2026, the festivities start with the Elite and U23 time trials on January 7th and 8th, with highlights packages available to watch soon after the conclusion of the races via SBS On Demand.

Luke Plapp (Jayco-AlUla) will be looking to make it a hat-trick of time trial titles in the Elite Men's race against the clock, while Brodie Chapman (UAE Team ADQ) won her first national championship in the discipline last year.
Then, on January 9th, speed takes centre stage under the Friday night lights with the Elite & U23 criteriums, as the riders take on a 1.2km circuit around the Northbridge city centre. Both the Elite Men's and Elite and Under-23 Women's races will be LIVE via SBS On Demand.

Native West Australian sprinter Sam Welsford (BORA-hansgrohe) will be tough to beat again on home roads after taking out last year's Elite Men's race, while Amber Pate (Liv AlUla Jayco) returns with a chance to win her third national criterium championship after Elite Women's titles in 2023 and 2025.
The focus then shifts to the road races, with the Men's U23 on Saturday January 10 serving as a curtain-raiser for a super Sunday of racing on January 11, with the Elite and U23 Women's race LIVE on SBS followed by the Elite Men's race LIVE on SBS VICELAND, with both races also live via SBS On Demand.

Julian Baudry will line up as the current Men's U23 champion after stunning the field as an 18-year-old in 2025, while beloved Perth native Luke Durbridge holds the Elite Men's title following his fairytale victory on home roads last year.

After her breakthrough win in 2025, Lucinda Stewart will look to get her season off to another winning start in the Elite and U23 Women's race.
