What is the Arabian Gulf Cup?
Founded in 1970, the Arabian Gulf Cup is a biennial international tournament organised by the Gulf Football Federation (GFF) to promote competition among its eight member nations.
Kuwait were the inaugural winners of the 1970 tournament and have won the most titles with 10 - the last of which coming in 2010.
The 2026 Arabian Gulf Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia and will feature two groups of eight teams, with the top two in each group progressing to the knockout stages.
Iraq, one of the participating nations in this year's tournament, are coached by Australian Graham Arnold and will be aiming to regain the title they last won in 2023.
Bahrain are the defending champions.

Eight teams will contest the 2026 edition:
- Saudi Arabia (hosts)
- Iraq
- Oman
- Kuwait
- United Arab Emirates
- Qatar
- Bahrain
- Yemen
